Q: WHAT ARE THE CERTIFICATION STATUSES?
Determine your certification status by viewing your profile in our Certification Candidate Management System (CCMS).
See the chart below for status definitions:
STATUS | DEFINITION | USE OF CERTIFICATION |
Certified (active) | (active)An individual has achieved certification status AND has reported required CPE. | May demonstrate certification with inclusion in a certification registry, business card, or other documents. |
Inactive-grace period | An individual has not reported CPE for the prior year. | May not claim certification (remove from business cards and documents) until CPE is reported. |
Inactive | An individual has not reported CPE for more than 2 years. | May not claim certification (remove from business cards and documents) until reinstated. |
Retired | An individual is no longer in the workforce. | May not claim certification until reinstated. |

Certified individuals can reinstate an inactive or retired certification by submitting a reinstatement form and associated fee within their CCMS profile.
